Gum Rosin

Gum Rosin is extracted by distillation from Oleo Pine resin, which comes from the Pinus Merkusii tree species. It is yellowish, transparent, insoluble in water but soluble in many organic solvents.

PT. Molekul Pinus Indonesia (MPI) exclusively markets high quality Pinus Merkusii gum rosin produced in Indonesia.

Uses: intermediate for synthetic organic chemicals, used in papermaking, inks, paints, varnishes, adhesives, rubber.

Gum Turpentine Oil

Gum turpentine oil is a natural fluid distilled from oleo pine resin. It is colorless with strong pine flavor and odor characteristics. Besides its traditional use as a solvent for paints and varnishes, gum turpentine oil is also employed in pharmaceutical industry, fragrance, and disinfectants.

In Indonesia, Gum Turpentine Oil is commonly used as an additive for ointments and mainly used as a mixture of cajuput oil. And as a matter of fact the turpentine oil from Indonesia has a high alpha pinene content and it is around 75% - 80%, which have aromatic and calming scents.
